Dear Autopay,

Revoke ACH authorization letter

A revoke ACH authorization letter tells a cash advance company and your bank to stop automatic withdrawals from your account. Dear Autopay gives you fill-in templates with each app's contact details and notice periods already filled.

What a revoke ACH authorization letter is

When you signed up for a cash advance app, you usually authorized it to pull repayments by ACH or debit card. A revoke ACH authorization letter (sometimes called a revoke ACH authorization template) is your written notice that you are withdrawing that permission. Send one to the company, and tell your bank so it can block future debits too.

Steps to fill and send one

  1. Pick the apps debiting you. Match the company names on your bank statement to the cash-advance apps we cover.
  2. Fill in the revoke ACH letter. Use Dear Autopay to fill a revocation letter for each app, with that app's contact and notice period already included, plus a bank letter.
  3. Send the letters. Email or message each app from the email on your account, and send the bank letter (or call your bank and follow up in writing).
  4. Keep proof and watch your statement. Save copies and dates. If a debit posts after you revoked, contact your bank promptly.

Heads up: this is meant for cash-advance apps. Stopping payments on a payday loan, installment loan, or other loan can mean default, fees, or collections.

FAQ

What is a revoke ACH authorization letter?

A revoke ACH authorization letter tells a company (and usually your bank) that you are withdrawing permission for automatic ACH or debit withdrawals from your account. It is a written notice to stop the auto-debits.

Does deleting the app stop payments?

Usually not. Deleting the app or closing your account does not by itself cancel the debit authorization you gave it, and scheduled repayments can still be pulled. Send a written revocation to the app and tell your bank too.

Does this cancel what I owe?

The only thing a revoke ACH letter does is stop the automatic withdrawals. The cash-advance apps we list say in their own terms you're not legally required to repay advances, and most say they won't send you to collections. Expect to lose access to future advances. Membership or express fees can be separate. This isn't legal advice.

Is this legal advice?

No. Dear Autopay provides self-help fill-in letter templates. No one reviews your letters. Federal rules generally let you revoke authorization for automatic debits from your account, but this is not legal advice.

How much notice do I need?

Banks must honor a stop-payment request made at least 3 business days before a scheduled debit. Each app has its own notice period (shown on each letter). Debits already scheduled or processing may still go through.

Self-help fill-in letters, not legal advice, and not debt relief or credit repair. The only thing these letters do is ask to stop the auto-debits. Results aren't guaranteed.
